On the Occasion of “World environment Day, 5th June 2014” COMMit took up the initiative to conduct an ‘E-waste management awareness drive’ in order to make our contribution to a healthy and safe environment. The main theme of the awareness drive was “Recycle E-waste, Save Environment”
Electronic waste management is one of the major concerns for many individuals as well as organizations. Most of us are not even aware of the processes and practices used in order to safely dispose electronic waste.
Hence, COMMit, through its unique initiative made an attempt to address the hazards of e-waste dumping and unhealthy disposal. As a part of this initiative we conducted an E-Waste collection drive from 5th June to 9th June 2014 at COMMit’s customer service desks and have sent all the collected electronic waste to certified E-waste recycling plant in order to ensure safe and healthy environment for all human kind.
Our customer service desks helped people to know more about e-waste recycling and as a part of this exercise we have also established a tie up with certified e-waste recyclers. This was a registered activity with the “United Nations Environment Program, World Environment Day 2014 activities” and was widely supported by our employees and associates
